Thread: 05 pcm wirring diagram

are you swaping this in a truck or older rig??? that connector is for the FUEL COMPOSITION SENSOR. the wiring harness you are working with is a L59 flex fuel engine harness. designe to operate on high concentration of ethanol alcohol fuel, have you heard of the new E85 fuel??? that is it.... the connector pin A = white, fuel temperature compomposition signal... pin B = pink, ignition 1 voltage... pin c = black, ground....... if you have the complete engine you will need the matching fuel pump, injectors, fuel comp/temp sensor for it to work correctly. the L59 engine designed on E85 fuel has a fuel system that flows 50% more fuel than a regular system. its differnet but not bad. you just need to keep that in mind when tuning it. the engine computer needs to know how much ethanol is in the tank to make the engine run correctly, it takes as muck as 50% more alcohol to operate the engine correctly compaired to gas. the system is intergrated into the fuel tank system and keeps tabs on fillups. not quite sure excactly how though. i do know that you can have all that turned off and make to just a regular engine,,, just keep in mind of the high flow rate injectors adn fuel pump. (food for thought....when installing a magnacharger radix on a L59 flex fuel suburban, you swap over the old injectors, and can never fill up with more than 10% ethanol fuels. thats how much extra they flow. pluss i think they have diferent connectors)

it depends on if somebody has cracked the new 05 computer... worst case, get a 02-03 harness, injectors, and 0411 computer. everybody has ways to crack the coding in that computer. what year bird are we talking about???, you need to bypass the theft lock system, and rear o2s for a older car. i have in the past installed some little black boxes that simulate the rear o2s and also the theft deturant system. then leave all the other emmissions stuff undone and dont hook up the check engine light. using stock tuning on the pcm it runs great. non of the emmissions stuff except the rear o2s will cause the engine to run bad. the computer doesnt care if there working or not, no loss of performance, just you wont have a check engine light. but the computer has the theft system that needs to be delt with in some way. dont forget about that.

it would be cool if you converted it to a ls1 style intake and accesories. just get all the stuff from a ls1 f body, swap in in. is the truck intake going to fit under the hood? pluss the computer may be easer to play with. i dont know if the theft system on the f body will trigger the fuel enable on that new of a computer . i havent sat down and looked at the wiring system, i know that it runs through your body control module on the firebird...also you need to make sure all the other systems are working on the car after the swap, so you have a nice driving car when you are done. i have seen some bad f body hacks in the past... good luck...

that will save a bunch of time. just hit the wrecking yard to get a harness. you could use a truck harness and swap over the injecotr connectors to the ls1 style connector or just get a car harness but a truck harness might be easer to get, i know that in our yard, there just laying around, if you find one with a cruched connector or its cut(but the stuff you might need is still there) its usually free. the last one i got had the part cut off that had the right side o2, mass air flow sensor ac stuff. i just went back later in the week got the rest of the harness from a different truck (for nothing) and spliced them together. and bam. well some 40 hrs later, i had a harness, i needed to make a custome fuse block and graft the jeep into it. in theory you could get the harness from a f body and make that work good to, and it might be easer to do but not easer to find.

Yeah, good luck finding an F-body harness cheap. I find them on LS1tech every once in a while for $150.00. Most often they are for the manual transmission.
