2010 4.8 to 5.3 swap. Newbies first mistake.

Well thanks for the site, first post. have a 2010 4.8 swb silverado, and a gen 3 5.3 engine, and a gen 4 engine, Im assuming if I swap the computers my gen 4 will connect to everything in the truck alright? Goal was to pull the 4.8 out, swap in the 5.3, and then swap out pistons and crank in the 4.8 to get a 5.3 for another project.

Simplified question, Will my 2007 5.3l connect to the 2010 4.8l engine harness?

The 5.3 L gen3 will not work in the Gen4 truck. You will need to change a few things, mainly the reluctor wheel. Or use some sort of 58x to 24x box.
