1994 full size blazer to lq9

So im going to swap a 2002 lq9 with a tick sns torquemax stage 1 cam into my 1994 full size 4wd blazer. Should i keep the 4l60e thats in there now? And if so what flex plate do i need. What trans should i use if no, that will bolt up to my tcase.

you could use it, but you would be on borrowed time. I would look for a 4l80e.

What about a 4l65e? I heard the 4l80e would make me have to buy new drive shafts for the front axle and rear.

you shouldn't need new drive shafts if you are using the factory tcase from your truck

That is correct, the 4l80 is longer and will require custom driveshafts.

how much longer is it? I thought they were very close in size so I could keep my tcase in the stock location and use the adjustability in the swap motor mounts to take up the slack

Found this bit of helpful info just by searching. I am running 60e with dingo mounts and a 14bolt. My stock driveshaft will not fit even with the mounts slid all the way forward, but my build is completely different. Looks like ur just gonna have to test it out and see.

i put the lq9 in mine with stock 60e. tranny was done in 3 months. but it did have 250k on it... built 80e now.... wont look back. but i did need to get shaft shortened a bit. but not a bad thing since the ujoints and bearings also had the same mileage, all that was replace and balanced too... so i spend a bit on that but hey, now i dont have to worry about a thing... just saying
