i have a question when you swap the 4.3 to the ls1 and hook up the wiring harnesses does everything match up like do your head lights work and cruise control work. ive heard that some people have problems with hooking that stuff up.

Headlights aren't part of the pcm harness. As far as the cruise control, mine went on the blink before I did my swap so I'm not sure what controls it, maybe someone else could answer that. My horn doesn't work since the swap but I think I cut something I wasn't supposed to...oops. You will have to wire up your guages to make them work with the new pcm.

Well... I'm crossing that bridge now (but slowly).
Stuff like headlights, turn signals, brake lights, interior lighting, door jam switches, horn, etc, shouldn't be tied in with your engine harness (like motoxlifer said). The main thing you'll need to do is confirm what you need for proper cluster operation & power to the engine harness (& components). If you decide to get a custom engine harness, that'll make things a lot easier (trust me, I managed to make the stock 5.3 harness work the proper way). A custom harness may seem pricey, but it's probably worth it for most people. I'm comfortable with doing my own wiring, but most people aren't.
Any more questions? If so, post up... folks are here to help.![]()

ive been thinkin about gettin a custom wiring harness from FAST a stand alone unit ive heard that going that route will be alot easier. what do you think?
The Nelson Performance harness is cheaper and a really clean harness. There are many harness builders out there and there can't be much difference between any of them.
