Gday!
Hi guys,
Random 'newbie' thread.
Always loved the 99-03 shaped Silverado's (blame me being younger and liking the Dub die cast trucks).
Always been a car guy... Here in Australia, we have Utes that are literally used for performance street cars these days. Having many of those, always wanted something different.
Finally got a 2000 Silverado LS standard cab with the 8ft bed approx 1yr ago and have started the mods.
Big pain with it was it was converted to RHD for the Australian market, so engine mods were a little different and buying off the shelf items from US didn't always work out.
Came here to read if other people have had issues with the Chev drive shafts. Whilst dyno'ing my truck 2 weeks ago, the drive shaft twisted like an empty coke can at only 4000rpm. It's being quite the mission to get a replacement. I had the one piece shaft, and no one here will make one that long. So now I have to have a 2 piece shaft with center bearing made up especially for it. Easier said than done.
Recently started the engine mods. Before and after pics below... Been quite the journey to find the correct info before making a move on purchases, that's for sure. Have learnt a lot.

Running the 4.8ltr with the following -
~ Comp Cam 224/230
~ Procharger PSC-1, Intercooled
~ Holley Hi-Rise Intake
~ 92mm Aeroflow Throttle Body
~ 60lb Injectors
~ E85 Fuel system
~ Custom fab headers (around steering rack)
~ other basics like bigger oil pump, K&N Catch Can, fuel rails etc.
It's gotten a little out of hand to say the least.... It's only money right?
So if you see me on the forum asking a silly question, keep in mind I'm probably having a lot of trouble finding a simple answer before actually asking.
Thanks guys!
Steve
