    Dirty Dingo mounts with OBS 4WD Questions

    Anyone that has used these on a 4WD OBS, I sure would appreciate the benefit of your experience...

    Two questions.

    1: Dirty Dingo says to leave the bracket to engine block bolts loose till the engine & trans are installed to allow for proper alignment. That makes sense, but how hard are those bolts to get at after mounting? Is this really feasible?

    2: Dirty Dingo says that the front crossmember needs to be notched on the 4WD. See the last descriptive paragraph on this page: http://dirtydingo.com/store/product_...oducts_id=1367
    However, what the hell? I see no crossmember there???

    Mine is a 2wd but I left the bolts loose when i installed engine. There was one bolt on each side that was a pain to get to but I got it tightened after a few cuss words . The other 3 on each side were no problem

    What he said^ but as far as the crossmember thing goes, I saw no need for notching anywhere on my 4wd. But then again, I'm lifted 6" with a Procomp kit. However, there was some grinding I had to do to fit my pacesetter lt headers on the passenger side.

    Thanks guys!

    I'll do a test fit to see how it goes first... I'm thinking in the install, tighten the three easy bolts on each side and then lift the motor back up a bit to help get the last bolt. Does that sound like it will work? No headers here, so hopefully the exhaust will clear OK.

    I used 1" set back mounts that had some adjustability much like dirty dingo mounts. I put them in exactly the way you described, fitting the engine to the trans and dropping the motor in place before lifting it back up to get the final bolt on each mount.
