Thread: Vibration gone

Finally got that damn vibration out of the drive train. I decided to pull both drive shafts and have them balanced. I had .017" runout on the rear shaft so we cut one of the yokes off and welded it back on true. I took the cast yoke and machined it true to help with the balance also. We couldn't get the shafts up above 1700 RPM without one hell of a resonance frequency (critical). I had the truck up to 120 mph tonight and it's smooth as can be except for the tire balance which I'll take care of next. I still have the noise I discussed in another thread and the front pump in the tranny is still whining a little when it get's hot. Oh, and I threw a cam position sensor code right after I got my inspection sticker when I hooked the alarm back up. The truck runs awsome but I still have some tweaking to do like maybe raise the front up another inch. The front air dam hits every pot hole and crevis in the road. LOL Thanks again to everyone's input to help me through this kick ass little project.

Sounds like it coming right along. Did you do something to the pump when you installed that convertor?

What would the cam sensor code mean?

Oh yeah did I ask you if you used your factory gauge cluster or aftermarket gauges? Sounds like you got it going pretty good though. Can't wait to see some E.T.'s

RHB, I just installed the convertor with fluid and made sure it was in all of the way. It started whining right after I put the exhaust pipes back on.

motoxlifer, Yes I used the factory gauges. Everything works except the ABS light comes on every once in a while. I'm just to the point with work and everything where I can start trouble shooting. ET's? Me to!!!

I can't wait to see how much more power you make with the 2002 heads and intake.

I'll prpbably run it over to Gforce in the next couple of weeks to see what kind of numbers this thing will put out. I wish I had time to take by Allens.
