    Starting Problem

Whenever I try to start my truck after it's been sitting a while, it cranks a couple of times, busts off at a real low rpm and sounds like it's about to die for a few turns, then it hits normal idle. If I kill it and go to start it shortly after, it'll start right up like normal. I just changed the plugs out a few days ago and it's still doing it. I've read that it can be the fuel pressure regulator or even the fuel pump going bad. Either way, I'd have to change the fuel pump if that were the case. About 3 weeks ago, I hooked a fuel pressure gauge up to the fuel rail and key on it hit about 55psi. I think that it would drop pressure pretty fast though. At what rate does it normally drop with just key on? Anyone have any suggestions for me to try?

Go get your battery and alternator tested for free. My 06 used to do that and a cell in the battery ended up being dead.

If it is droping pressure than you have a problem, fuel pump is common culprit.
