    Just picked up a 2000 5.3 with harness ecm, pcm fuse box all of it with 22,000 miles for $1000 that im looking to swap into my 95 rcsb k1500 4wd. Ive been reading here and there but im looking for a detailed list of what I need to plan on buying. Not trying to do it overnight itll be awhile before I get to it due to purchasing parts weekly. Its just a 350 tbi with a 4l60, I do have access to getting a 700r4 if that's neccessary

    Hi and welcome to the site.

    I'll give you an idea of what you will need. I'm sure the list won't be complete. Hoping other guys will chime in to finish or update the list.

    You're transmission will need to be rewired internally or get another trans that is '96 or newer. LS PCMs will only operate '96 or newer trans unless your older trans is updated electrically. If you do use the older trans, you will also need to get the proper flex plate/spacer to mate up to the trans.
    You will need engine conversion mounts. Lots of guys like the Dirty Dingo mounts. This will put the engine in the right place to get your driveshaft/trans crossmember to work.
    Your PCM will need to be flashed to remove the Vehicle Anti-theft system (VATS). This will allow the engine to run without all the theft deterrent systems interfering.
    You will need to modify your existing LS wiring harness to a stand-alone harness or purchase a stand alone harness from a reputable dealer like Nelson Performance.
    Not sure of what you want to do about your exhaust system. You could go with headers or use the standard manifolds if you have them.

    This is only a partial list. I'm sure some guys will be along to add to this list or change some of the items.

    Hi Mickeymotormount,

    I hope you don't mind me jumping in but I could use a couple of questions answered. I will start my own build thread soon 95 4x4 Z71:

    1) Transmission rewire above- I will have my trans rebuilt "reputable shop". Can you give a little more explanation on rewired internally above. I have been scratching my head on the union of old trans to new ecm for a couple of months.

    2) Engine sensors - Will I run two seperate temp sensors, one for the new ECM and the other for my existing dash gauge?
    A) I have to chose the best option for oil pressure. Assume using an adaptor (might fab up?) and the old sensor.

    3) Still wrestling w/ how to and where to terminate the old wiring and do I have to keep the old ECM in place w/ my new nelson tuned ECM and standalone harness (harness by myself).

    Help appreciated!

    Brian

    Start by reading this multiple times;
    http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/lsx-t...onversion.html

    Towards the end, I posted dozens of links that I have found useful in my swap thus far. Then just read as many swap threads as you can that pertain to your swap and you should be able to figure out what all you'll need.
