    Gear question

Ok guys want some opinions on gearing. I have searched a little but haven't found what I was looking for. What gear would you guys run if you were not worried about hwy milage or city milage. My truck is nbs ext cab 5.3 228/232 588/595 110+4 cam 3200 stall LTs efans. 60e trans. I run basically a 32inch tire. I'm thinking 4.88 maybe 5.13??? I know those are deep gear choices but should be really fun on the street. With some 30-32 sticky tires it should have a descent track time or at least I think it should lol.

i ran a fully bolted 6.0 with 4:88's with a 28" - 29" slick if you can get them to hook you're golden, the smaller the tire the better but panting the tire is another story ! never tried 5:13 gear sometimes i wish i had like now if i was still running NA

i'd up the stall speed if it was me 4400 triple disc and bam you'll see a nice difference
    Simple: 408 on steroids!

I think 4.88s would be very steep, but if we are talking max effort then 4.88s would be great. It's funny I'm a chicken over here afraid to swap from 3.42 to 4.10 so I got 3.90s. Lol

That cam really needs a larger stall.

It's funny everyone says that but it flashes right at the beginning of the powerband and it loves the 3200

It would be pissed off at you without a converter...

You feel it loves a 3200 toss in a 4000+, you will have a **** eating grin that will be hard to wipe off.

From personal experience, had a truck that felt great with a 3000 or so I thought. Couldn't believe the gains I got from the 3400. Then the 4000 showed me what I was always missing.

You have a very aggressive cam for a 5.3, it will love a higher stall speed.

Very true statement. With going 4.88 that 4k stall is probably not going to feel that loose. Probably wait until the 60e goes then go bigger

4.88's will sure help a converter feel tighter, downside it will tighten up the stall speed of your current converter.

My friend has a S3 3800 from TCS in his truck and it feels very tight, his gearing is only 4.10's. Honestly it feels almost as tight as my 2600 in my daily. Hoping my TCS S3 4600 will feel tight and efficient on the street.

Pittman on PT.net had a Yank Pro 3600 that he said daily drove great and felt very tight. Then went to a Yank SS 3600 and its loose as a goose. It all depends on the converter.
