Starting to plan a 5.3 swap.

Hi to all and new to the forum. I am starting to plan a 5.3 swap into my 93 Chev 1500 4.3 Silverado (my avatar)
My question right now is will my transmission work with a LS engine. I have had it rebuilt and they put in Corvette clutch packs and servo so it will hold up to a V8 but not sure if it is a 4l60 or 4l60E. I have cable TBI in it now. Would I have to use a cable 5.3 or can I go with a fly by wire 5.3.
Sorry if these questions have been asked a thousand times, but just trying to figure out where to start when I look for an engine.

You can go with either of the throttle body's it up to you. I went from a manual trans to an automatic but I think you have to make the hole bigger on the flex plate im not to sure. But good luck with your build man.

if you go drive by wire, you will need the TB, and the gas pedal/TAC unit/harness that matches the TB. check this out http://chevythunder.com/drive_by_wir...erator%20pedal

as for the trans, the 60e will work just fine as long as long as the pcm is programed for it. thats what i did on my 95. if its just the 60, theres a little more involved as the computer wont be controlling it. i dont know anything about that though. but there is some explinations on that on this site. heres a link for the flexplate stuff. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/11065304-post1.html

just search this site. most of your questions will be answered on here. check my thread out. link in my sig. similar swap as yours. it will probably help you out a lot

93 should have the 60e and this will not work with the 5.3 computer without changing the internal electronics/harness on the trans or you may be able to repin it....I seen one guy say that you could but I've never seen any confirmation on it. 95 and later trans will work fine with the ls pcm...93-94 are the ones you gotta change the electrical stuff on...

Thanks for the replies guys. This is going to be a long term project that will take some planning and saving up my pennies to get what I need. I hate to change transmissions since I have put the money into building this one up. May just go with a 5.7 but still deciding.
