that funny you say that bc I was going with 4 link for the longest and at the last minute changed my mind to ladder bars after talking to a few very experienced drag racers. My setup is 12 bolt, 36" ladder bars and strange double adjustable coilovers. What suspension do you have in the front? I still havent thought much about that yet but I know I want a DA coilover. I also am pretty set on the split spoke wheels as well but now that you have them I may need to go with the Rev wheels haha. Do you know if the m&h front runners are rated for vehicles as heavy as our trucks?

Sounds like a solid setup to me.

I also have AFCO aouble adjustable coil overs. Also have a chrome moly front cross member and fiberglass hood to cut down on weight.

The Split Spokes just look so good! I did it to be original so I feel ya there... the Revs do look nice!

I don't really know, but when I had my QC Ram M&H basically said use at your own risk lol Flaco ran them on Hayhauler and Lil Sis. Don't plan on running them on the street, I have 17x7 Split Spokes and some Pirelli's for that.

Nice man. Yea I've done a good bit to cut weight and still plan to do more. How much lighter is the glass hood? And which crossmember are you talking about? Sry for all the questions but it sounds like we are building very similar trucks except mine is turboed

I honestly don't know. Reason for going to the fiberglass hood is because of its cowl. Really need it to clear my Holley Hi-Ram wouldn't have been a issue but the motor mount were moved so the engine sits higher and further back.

The cross member for the front clip right below where the engine sits, had it completely swapped out for chome moly. Trying to make up for it being so front heavy...

Really wanting low 10's on motor.

Had considered a turbo and it would have actually been cheaper. Ran into some issues with the 454 LSX I bought. It was a good deal and had very few miles on it but turns out the walls were already pitted and I didn't get my money back. So I payed for a rebuild and the builder went all out and did everything you can practically do to it without asking me. Costing me a arm and a leg... It hurts when I know I could have had ERL 427 Superdeck I and a single turbo build for about the same price. Granted it wouldn't have a set of badass heads on it lol

Well there is my rant. lol

Haha Damn man that's crazy. If you get it light enough you should be deep 10s for sure. I was also considering a cowl hood Bc I heard even the steel ones are lighter than stock. I wish I could find one with a 3-4'' cowl but all I can find is 2''. So you moved the engine up and back to get the cg back and up huh? Should make for easy wheel stands lol. I can't wait to see yours done. How did you go about dropping the front end? You still have stock control arms?

Really don't know of a cowl for yours, I know Harwood doesn't make one. Surprisingly they cater more to GMC.

Just moved it back and up as well as the trans to get the weight to transfer better and not be so front heavy. Going to try and prevent wheel stands with the suspension adjustments but will not be to upset if it does one or two during the shake downs lol

Well I still have the frame going to the bumper but removed the brace between the two like the mustang guys do when the do a LS swap. Got the idea after seeing my buddy but a LQ9 in his 95 Stang. The control arms are still stock but it does have McGaughys drop spindles. I had considered doing the whole front end in moly but the price tag for that was rather steep.

I am ready for it to be done, its taking way to long. You doing the work on yours yourself?

Yea I looked at the Harwood stuff and was disappointed they didn't have a cool hood for it lol. I'm doing a pretty trick bumper setup and if it works out right it should drop 50# or so. Just can't get into a front end collision lol. Yea I'm doing all the work but I have a buddy helping me with the backhalf frame rails. I'll be doing all the suspension setup and all. Also getting my trans guy setup my gears. It needs a good bit of body work and paint but that'll be after it gets rolling again. I had someone hit my rear driver quarter so the frame was bent out back and trashed the bed so it's going to be two different colors till it gets painted haha. I took the opportunity to make it better and safer instead of just fixing it.

I was debating on what to do for the front bumper also, really want to make the truck as light as possible. Yeah I saw where it was in a wreck, that really sucks!
