Cool new to the site but not the ls series need advice on stock lq4 build

right now i have a 5.3 with just a isky 212/218 high lift with 112lsa and stock 60e but right now im in the process of getting a parts list together for my lq4 swap. my goals hopefully somewhere near 400 n/a in a 2007 sierra classic cc. here's what i plan on doing.

stock rebuilt lq4, maybe forged rods ( debating on adding turbo down the line)
    ls7 lifters
    ls2 chain
    pac 1218 springs
nnbs intake with xlink, or ls6 intake
    1 3/4 or 1 7/8 longtubes
    oem oil pump
    cam is either
    230/232 591/585 112 + 4
    222/222 .566/.566 114 LSA
    222/226 .597 .598 113
    228"/230" .576"/.595" 114

heads will be simple p&P,bowl blend 243s

trans will be a stock 96 4l80e with shift kit, for now i will run stock converter then eventually do a 3400 circle d

if anyone has suggestions on my setup im all ears, this is a daily driven truck so no spray or power adders just yet.. thanks and hope to hear alot also with my setup and guess if i would be near 400

    Forged pistons > forged rods
    Dual gold springs>1218 for DD/reliability
    NNBS intake > LS6 intake
    228"/230" .576"/.595" 114 that's my favorite of your suggestions but on a 112LSA
Get the stall sooner rather than later.

The pistons are much more likely to go in these motors in my experience. Many motors have put down 800-1200hp with stock rods. In most cases it seems like pistons crack, but rods don't give out. Later model gen III motors had stronger rods as well. In some cases the rods will bend. I would still say the pistons are more important than the rods. If you are going to do a rebuild I would suggest swapping to forged pistons and rods and going over 30 to make it a 370.

6.0s can eat a lot of cam before a stall is needed. 228/230 will be drive able will not lacking up top. It will drive okay without a stall and react incredibly with a stall. If you think a stall is more than a year away then stick with a 220/224 cam.

Yeah that sounds like a great cam although a little more lift would be a good idea IMO. Should be a great all around cam. You will want to be careful with your piston choices though because PTV issues can come up especially with 243 heads.

I think you need to hit up pat g and have him spec you out a custom cam or just call Nelson performance and they can do it.

If you use XER lobes then you can get 228/230 .588/.592

With this kinda build I would suggest 1 7/8" headers. I believe TSP makes a nice set of stainless for reasonable money.
