ls1 heads on a 5.3?

I have a 2005 5.3 and im looking at a set of 806 heads off 97-04 ls1. Will they fit? Is the bolt pattern the same? Would these heads work good with a turbo setup?

They will fit but won't really help you in any big way. I wouldnt waste your time swapping those heads.

If you are going to use LS1 heads look for the later yrs of 241 models,

they are a 2" valve head and will help with flow especially in a boosted setup, on a dish piston 53 it will net you roughly 8.8 cr

the 241 heads have a better casting then the earlier heads

I ran 241s on a 48 back before boosting 48s were cool and it allowed me to make over 700 rwhp on pump gas

I have a set off a 02 LS1 with 42k complete with springs and valves

the heads flow very similar to the stock 53 heads you have now

Ok, I read that the 241 and 806 heads were pretty much the same head. Bad info I guess. You have a set of 241's George? Do you want to sell them?

they are the same head but the 241s are just a better casting that came on the 00-04 ls1s

I would sell them if you were interested, ive never shipped anything to Canada but if you knew of a easy way id be interested. They are currently on the motor
