Im looking to buy a 4l80e and i found one out of a 97 3500 van. My question is, will this work with my truck. I have a 2001 silverado with a 5.3 and I'm wondering if this trans will be compatible with the computer if i get a harness adaptor and retune the pcm and will it bolt up like a 2002 model?
Trans will work but the converter will not.

ya i read the swap info. Ive got a good idea what i need for the swap, but i just needed to know if the 97 trans will be compatible. Anyone else tried a 97? I read the 96 and 97 are odd balls.
I've ran a 95 97 &98. They will work.
