Yessir, as stated earlier, it is a 65e, according to your vin. For sure. Sorry it took me so long to get back, hectic day at work yesterday.

i did an install in a 94 two door tahoe, i had my harness builder put in the factory electric fan plugs/harness/relays, which can be controlled through the 0411 pcm, i bought some 98-02 camaro fans off summit racing for about 130 bucks i want to say, it was plug and play, also if your modding your own harness i believe nelson sells a factory fan harness that plugs right into the red/blue connectors..
You're very welcome.

Its finally out. The trans is the only thing I need out. Not really in a hurry though. Unless I can find someone with a 2wd 4L65E wanting to trade for an AWD 4L65E.

Finally had a chance to get the trans out of the Denali. I was robbed. The VIN & RPO code said it had a 4L65E. Turns out they were both wrong.
Since my truck has a 4L60E, I will be keeping it in the truck till I break it and use this as a spare. I need to get rid of the transfer case right now. I have no use for it.
We will be pulling the rear end once the Denali gets scrapped and I will do a swap for the beefier rear end and at the same time I will use rotors from a 98 C2500 so I can have 6 lugs up front as well.

just a thought.... as far as ive read, arent the 65e's the same as a 60e but with stronger internals? is it possible that GM just kept the same casing, didnt change the "4L60E" on the side to "4L65E", and just put different guts in it? then change the RPO code to show what it is? or did they actually change the casting numbers as well? as i stated, i have no idea what they did. just food for thought. if that IS the case, then you might actually have a 65.... someone who knows trannys should be able to confirm or throw my thought out the window.
Not sure on that one but it does stand to reason that it may have the beefier internals while being housed in the 4L60E housing. Many 4L60E trannies are rebuilt with the beefier internals for engines with higher output.

Well if that is the case then I will still hold off on swapping it in till I break mine. I will do the vette servo and a couple of other things to mine as mine shifts great.
I don't feel like tearing in to mine and the "65E" to get the tail shaft out of mine to convert the "65E" to 2WD right now. The motor may get a cam before it goes in so other than that is all stock. Mine should hold up unless I take it to the track to go play.
