    92 4.3 to 96 LT1

    Hey everyone,

Im new to this site and what im looking to do is swap my 4.3 to a lt1 out of a 96 trans am. I have no clue where to start from after i pull the motor out of both vehicles and prepare to drop the new motor in my truck. I will have the entire trans am to pull from i.e. wire harness and w hatever else i will need. If anyone has suggestions of what i should do about modifications and parts i will need to buy i would really appreciate the imput.

    Thanks for reading,

    Zero

Sell the LT1 to some sucker on craigslist, acquire an ls motor, save yourself the hassle.

Alright, I reckon i could keep the T56 though. I've been wanting to convert my truck to a stick shift anyways.

Most salvage yards (if you have any around you) will have these engines. Very easy to find and cheap too. The place I bought mine from has several of them starting at $375 and can run up to $2k. eBay is loaded with them as well, you might get lucky and find one within driving distance and save a freight charge. A 200-300 freight charge on a complete is engine with harness and accessories around $400-500 off eBay is not a bad deal. Look around and you will find it hard to miss.

Whats wrong with the LT1? If you already have that why not play with it theres optispark delete kits out there and can made some real good power also, but an LS will be a lot better in the tuning world
