I'm wanting to do valve upgrade on my 862 heads, 2" valves intake and have them milled n hand ported an polished. Can I just throw the valves in and go what needs to be done to accomplish this.

about 4 yrs ago Texas speed did a test with installing 2" valves in these heads. the results showed the stock size valve netted better performance then the 2" valve. had to do with the larger valve hurt flow of the head. look on ls1tech in the gen3 section and go back 4 yrs if possible.

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference
So it be best just hand p&p and get them milled?instand of the 2" valve upgrade
don't the prc 2.5 5.3 heads come with 2.02' valves?

Can't afford prc heads right now.. just want little more low end torque and more commpression
Good to know, thanks skeet. You notice a decent gain?

Which do y'all think be. Better milled p&p 2" valve upgrade or just 243/799 heads and milled them .030-.045
243 with a proper P&P+milled .030 is a bad ass head for the money. JMO.
