    need some oem specs....454

Rebuilding an 86 c10 silverado, got a 93 454 block I'm gonna build to put in it. Anyone know where I can find the OEM specs for the 93 motor? Trying to map out my build and would like to know the original bore, stroke, etc etc of the motor. And what trans would you guys recommend? Thinking I'm going the non-stroked supercharged route.

From what I head the early 90s 454 is an awesome modification to any boat. You tie a rope to it and toss it overboard when you get to your specific destination. This effectively keeps your boat from floating off with the current, thus it is called "the anchor mod".

Lol, yes I would much rather go with an lsx 454, except for the $10k price tag for the crate motor. Ballin on a budget, got this motor for nothing.
Now, anyone with some useful information?

Stock 454 from those trucks have great torque, but lack any kind of horsepower. You need much much better heads, ignition, and induction systems. Basically it's not worth the 8-10k it takes to make decent power. Basically You would be better off with a budget 6.0 swap.

Lol very true. I'm starting with just a bare 454 block, so I will have to buy heads and stuff anyways. I'm just looking for the factory specs from the 93 454 to base my build off of. I'm going old school on the build, full mechanical, and yes a 6.0 wud be great, but I'm going a different route on this build.

There is an episode of Trucks! Where they build a 1990 454SS. He swaps the heads induction system and some other stuff. The series of episodes is called truck wars. Some good info should be available there. Also a guy over on pt.net has a whipped charger for those trucks for sale right now.

    The Chevy 454 comes standard with a 7.4-liter, 255 horsepower engine. It is a V-8 and produces 405 ft.-lbs. of torque. The V-8 has a 4.25-inch bore and a 4.00-inch stroke with a 7.9-to-1 compression ratio.

Not sure what other kinds of info your looking for google is a lifesaver
