    SS Stall Question

I've been doing some reading on the 4l65e tranny in my SS and I read that they're rated for about 400 ft/lbs of torque. I've got Gibson shorties, true dual exhaust, a cai on the way, and a tune. My question is would I be safe to run say a 3000 stall with this tranny? My plan is to eventually buy a 4l80e and build it then swap it. But I figure in the mean time I could swap my tc for a higher stall and make a cam swap easier too. I just don't want to exceed what the tranny can handle.

Mine has held up fine behind a Circle-D 3200 278mm stall with just a Transgo HD-2 shift kit, vette servo and changing the plastic disk (can't remember what it's called now) to aluminum for 2 years. I don't have a cam though so that might put you over the edge. I also don't tow much weight if at all. The TSP 228R has been a proven cam in a bunch of SSS trucks...FYI.

Running a circle d 3200 with a big cam, heads, tune, no Trans Kit, on my otherwise stock 4L60e with 108k miles and runs good n strong. Truck is an 06. Absolutely love the stall. I never tow or haul anything heavy tho.
