Ok guys, the big question....Im gettin really close to buyin a motor- what do u guys think is better the 6.0 or the LS1? I was lookin at the wrong specs for the 6.0 and found out the older models dont have as much power as the LS1. The only thing I was worried about with the LS1 is its redline is so much higher and Ill be doing towing with it.

Since when is a higher redline a bad thing?

Either will work fine. A 6.0L with a 4" rotating assembly would be even better....6.6L

I was just worried about the higher redline b/c I don't wanna wear out my motor pullin a trailer on the highway.....does that even make sense? Also, the Ls1 will make more power than a 6.0 right?

The redline has nothing to do with how many revs the engine turns in every day driving. That only has to do with the final drive ratio....size of rear end gears, OD of tire and transmission gear used primarily. The redline is just the recommended maximum RPM the factory suggests the engine should turn. A higher redline usually suggests a better balanced engine.
