Impala posi unit in 1984 C10

I found this good deal on a posi unit from an 94 impala, and I know that there has been talk about being able to swap units from impala's into a 8.5 10 bolt rear end from the C10. I don't know what years from but my question is, if it will fit into a 1984 chevy C10 with the 5X5 axles and do they come with 31 splines as same as the impalas?

IIRC you have a 28 spline axle and the imp has the 30 spline.

Just buy a new trutrac or valutrac from Rons, he is a site sponsor on here. Look in the sponsor section for his link.

yeah that would be easy but I'm more on the budget side. $400 and up is a little steep. I don't mind going to the yards and digging for one just want to be sure i pull it off the right vehicle.

Lol it cost me a carrier and 2 axles and all new bearings! The old carrier makes a great conversation piece now!
