Hello , new guy here, I have been reading this forum for over a year now. First thanks to Redheart for his reco for installing an ls based engine vs lt, I took your advice and picked up an 05 5.3 complete with tranny and harness, comp and cats. about ready to drop it in ., my problem is the linkage for the tranny. Do I have to change the steering column? Thanks again!

I used the stock transmission linkage to connect to the LS1 4L60e.

Thanks Redheartbeat, was yours the rod type or cable.? I can't remember which year gm sarted using cable shifters but I have this rod type. So did you rework the rod connector to clear the harness receptacle on the tranny? thanks

I have the rod type shift connector. I removed the shifter switch from the transmission, didn't need it.
