    Hey guys im new to this site so just learning new things, the site is awesome lots of different topics and ideas....i have a single cab 5.3 with custom interior and some other mods....im lookin to put an ls1 or 6.0 in my truck this summer, i was wondering which one will be better and how much hp ill get out of the motors...


    2001 seirra 5.3L ex cab.-- 93 performance Nelson Tune,longtube pacesetter headers, ory, magnaflow with electric cut out, airaid cai, throttle body spacer, clear corners, 1400 watt system, 2 ifinity tens custom boxes, panasonic head unit, punch grill....sold :-(
    09 camry se v6....gotta have a gas saver while in college...still gets up and goes tho

    Which engine is in it now? Any GenIII engine is going to have a lot of power potential. The LS1 or LS2 has the advantage of taking weight off the truck. Weight is always your enemy. Depending on your intentions, the aluminum block engines, even the 5.3 block in the SSR, will be good. If you are going to go to a blown application or spray in N20 more than a 100 shot, I'd go with the 6.0L.

    I would not even bother to upgrade to the 6.0 from the 5.3. You can use that money towards a turbo, supercharger or a really nice nitrous setup. A 125 HP shot of juice will make you brown your shorts the first time it hits.
