What else is needed to do on a 4WD or AWD?

I am VERY impressed with everything done up front on my truck.
I picked up two stock upper control arms and 2" McGaughy Spindles from Mic. Jon replaced the front UCAs and installed the spindles. Everything looks factory up there, and I have these purty blue adjustable coil overs. I can lower the truck more if I wish, firmness, softness, or bring it back up. The geometry is way better than it was, and I wont have to worry about the grease boots bursting and then replacing ball joints. Good deal for anyone!

On the pic with Duckys truck there is probably another inch of adjustment up from his ride height.
The GMT400 uses a different length shock but install is almost the same. Only addition is you need to drill the upper shock hole from 5/8" to 3/4" for the delrin bushing to fit.
The 4wd/AWD is a whole different animal. Only one I've done took a lot of fabrication to make it work properly and also included building tubular lower control arms. No a minor modification at all.
Using stock upper and lower ca's, and stock spindles... - what drop will these have?

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference
what drop will i get with stock spindles?
figured third time is the charm.....

I haven't put a set on a stock height truck yet. Since Mcgaughtys spindles are 2"drop the ride height could be 2-3" taller than in Davids pic.
Very cool, will be going this route. Thanks Jon for the write up.
Sticky this
