checking in from Wichita Falls TX

Been lurking for a year now and decided to join. I recently aquired a 2006 rcsb 4.8 with only 29,000 miles and looking to upgrade the power. I originally planned to go the 6.0 route and probably still will someday, but for now I would like to see what I can get out of the 4.8. I know some will say don't waste money on the 4.8, but converter, rear gears, headers, exhaust, and intake will all carry over so I'm not too worried about that. I've got no problem with the mechanical side of things but I'm kind of new to the computer tuning part so I'm looking for help in that area. Thank's for any help and hopefully I can contribute as well.
2006 silverado 4.8, 3.23 rear, and slow as hell.

You are in the same boat as me. Mod all around the 4.8 till you are finally in the position to do the 6.0 swap

I would like to have Nelson Performance tune it, but I've heard that he locks the tune so I wouldn't be able to play around with it if I understand correctly. On the other hand, I can still use the software to log data and get an email tune wich would be better than sending me a new pcm, right?
