    A light aircraft stripper may work. While the chrome is over plastic, it is still chrome. Which is a metal. May not affect it at all.

    not trying to be like a know it all, but simon used air craft stripper to remove the chrome from his grill. the chrome is like a sheet stuck on the plastic, not like real chrome where is electrically charged to the metal.
