    New From Ohio

    hello my names Earl. im from north eastern ohio. ive been a member of silveradoss.com for a long time and performancetrucks.net and now i found this site. i have a 2002 silverado 1500, 2wd, 4.8l auto. reg cab long bed. ive had it for 8 years now. i finally got it looking good and paid off. i dont have much performance done so far. just a cai, exuast, msd wires and a hypertech (coming out for custom tune). hoefully you guys here can give me some guidance. im pulling the rearend this week to paint and insall a T/A girdle cover and a detroit trutrac. im on the fence about swiching the 3.42's to 3.73's or 4.10's. im gonna do the transgo hd-2 shift kit and billet servos for the trans. undecided on a stall converter right now, maybe in the sping. im gonna wait on that cause i want to do a cam with springs, retainers and push rods and think the cam i go with plays a big part in what converter is best to use. and then hopefully a turbo 70mm turbo kit around income tax time. if anyone wants to give me any advice on like which cam would be best for a N/A setup and be good for boost eventully one day and which valve springs and rods to use. i know alot but when it gets into specifics like for example the pac1218 springs or 918's, im kinda rough. or like what length pushrods? i hope you all enjoy and i will be frequenting the site often now and look forward to sharing any info i can to help others out here. i will try to find better pictures soon and update this thread. thank you

    Welcome to the show.
    Now I will answer some of your questions with my opinion.
    Gears-4.10's if your tires are taller than 29" and 3.90's if they are shorter.
    Stall-Circle D 3k you won't be sorry.
    Cam- really seems like any cam is good for boost (if it makes power NA it will make power boosted) I think a 218/218 with healthy lift and 114ish LSA would be solid.
    Springs- Patriot Extreme Gold's seem like the best for the money and I generally will always pick a dual spring.
    Push rods-Use a checker for sure, but generally 7.4's are a good bet. I am sure you know you need hardened push rods.
    Also some LS7 Lifters are a good upgrade if your truck is higher mileage.
