    lowering question?

    i have as 96 2door with 4wd..

i read some where an easy way to get 2 inches lower in the back is to remove the blocks under the leaf springs. if i do that can the springs just rest on the rear diff or do i need some kind of adapter or something?

before i get any gripe about lowering a 4x4..i live in Los Angeles Ca so 4x4 is pretty much useless and i never use it. i plan on removing the front differential for now until i can get a new trans and drop the transfer case.

Head to Oriellys and pick some up for like $35 bucks, I used to run those on my truck.

I'd sell my old ones to you if I didn't plan on putting them back on later when I get new tars

oh ok. so drop shackles and lower the torsion keys and i should be ok? i dont want it too low at all. maybe 2 inches. just to give me some better stability. truck feels like its goin to tip over half the time. i also plan on upgrading all my bushings to poly and adding a rear sway bar. gotta finish this swap first tho

Yep that's what I would do, get some stiffer shocks too.

I love my Summit Racing Sport Truck shocks (Reboxed Doestech), but don't know if they would fit your Tahoe
