That big grey connector in your last pic goes to the shift position detector for the gauges on the new truck you dont need it.

Actually, he does. The 95-98 cluster uses that switch for the shifter indicator too.

so took a huge set back today. my harness fund is gone lol. so i decided to finish doing my wiring harness. once i got all the electric tape and insulation off it wasnt that bad. i got all the wires i dont need taken out and all the ones i need routed and labeled. i just need to order the fuse block relays and obd2 connectors. it was actually pretty easy just very time consuming. ive spent probably about 6 hours on the harness already. ill be out of town this weekend so i cant do anything else to it but ill pick up some insulation and tape on monday and cklean it all up. i also broke the pigtails that go to the injectors when i was removing the harness. got some donated just paid shipping so hopefully those get here next week when i get the fuses and stuff and i can complete it. used www.lt1swap.com as a guide and was exremely detailed. walked through every step of the way.

heres all the wiring i removed

heres my harness all labled and seperated

hopefully it all works. seems pretty straight forward but theres always something. if all goes well i just saved myself $650

it wasnt as hard as i thought it would be honestly. i figure if all else fails ill just order a new one. let me know if you have any questions on it. im pretty good with electrical because my background is in car audio. im on the last few steps with this build. just gotta finish modifying the flywheel then ill be ready to drop in the motor and wire it up.

    Hey whats up man,

Finally got a chance to hop on here and check out your thread. You've definitely put in quite a bit of work. Im definitely considering an LSx swap on 'Ol Raggedy now.

finally got my motor dropped in. thanks to lt1firehawk for the hoist! so i guess those ebay mounts are all wrong so ill be getting the transdapt mounts. also the mount cups dont line up with the holes in the polymounts. so ill find some vortec truck mounts because the ones i got were off of an older chevy.

heres how far forward the motor sits

and this how the mounts line up..
