    Parkers Garage

Well I'm going to start my build thread. My truck has gone through a few changes over the past couple years.

It started out its life as a 2007 classic RCSB Regency with a 5.3, jba shorty headers, 4L60E, and G80 w/3.73s.

The shorties were quickly sold and a set of Mac midlengths were installed and a custom dirt_track_racer81 y-pipe was fabbed up. The first nitrous kit was installed somewhere around this time with a comp 212/218 .522/529 114LSA cam. This setup lasted a while then I changed things up completely.

I installed a set of AEM lts with 2.5" true duals into moroso spiral flow mufflers and an MTI T1 cam and a different nitrous kit. This setup was good for 435rwhp on a 75 shot and a 12.86 @ 107mph...and 22mpg
    YouTube - 2007 Silverado Classic 5.3 212/218 new exhaust
Well the nitrous never got used and was sold and eventually so was the cam...in favor a bigger one. We installed a lunati 232/237 .600 112LSA. Never dynoed or made it to the track, but it was strong.

    Now to the new setup...TURBO
The lunati cam has been sold, aem lts are going to their new owner soon and the turbo build will be commence. Initial setup will consist of:
    "New"(to me) 5.3L
    04 LS6 cam
    Truck intake
    29X9X4 intercooler
    Decent sized turbo
Custom dirt_track racer81 front mount turbo kit
    4L60E w/shift kit
    2800 stall
    3.73s w/auburn diff

While the truck is down I'm going to try and clean it up a little. There will changes in the future, I.e. Bigger turbo, bigger motor, trans etc...pics will be posted along the way!!

    UPDATE

This is my 2007 Chevy silverado. It's been an ongoing project since I bought it new in 2007. It started out life as a "base model" Regency conversion.

This is the best picture I can find of it when I bought it

Its been through so many changes its not even funny. One of the last that I posted here was my turbo build
    Turbo Build

My buddy did an awesome job, we made great power, but took the kit off and sold it to gather some money for a future project.

I kinda lost interest in the truck for awhile and the looks kinda went to.

Well some of my buddies started playing with their trucks and that got me interested in mine again. We put a junk motor together with parts from atleast 3 different engines, and it ran awesome.

    5.3liter with flaptop pistons
241 heads milled .040 with some p&p work
    Patriot .660 springs
    231/239 .612/.609 113LSA cam
    Pacesetter LT's
Dual 3" exhaust merged with a Flowmaster y into Magnaflow Race Series 4" muffler
    Well built 4L60E
    Circle D 278mm converter
    Auburn pro series diff w/4.56
100shot of nitrous just to top things off

    It made ~360rwhp N/A

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GX2XgusQtkA

I also made some visual improvements along the way. I think it looks pretty good right now, just needs an altitude adjustment, which we'll take care of this winter.

I have literally drove the outa this thing this year. I beat on it every weekend, whether it be roll racing or diggin with the slicks. I ran a best of 12.34 @ 110 with the lil 5.3 and won a lot of races on the street.

She also gets used as a truck as well...

Well we tore the 5.3 down to replace a bad lifter and when we got the heads off, I seen some pistons that I didn't feel 100% comfortable with, so we sent the 6.0 block that I had laying around to the machine shop for a .005 bore and I ordered some pistons to work with stock rods and some total seal rings. I also decided to change heads and order a cam spec'd for some nitrous.

So now the combo consists of
    365c.i.
    799 heads milled .030
    Lunati .660 springs
    LS7 lifters
    COMP pushrods
    Pat G nitrous cam
    Nitrous Outlet 78mm plate
    Induction Solutions Solenoids
    Circle D 278mm converter
Auburn Pro Series diff w/4.56 gears

We got it finished up around 2:30am Saturday morning 11-20-10, filled with fluid, started, seated the rings and I drove it home. I took it to the track later that day and decided to do some index racing. I suck at a .400 pro tree so I got put out first round.

Here's some slips from qualifying and my first round loss...The first slip was all out, second and third I was trying to run the index.

I wasn't going to run it on the bottle, but I really wanted to see what it would do. So I heated the bottle up and made a solo. I was shocked at what I seen when I got my slip...

That was on Old beat up slicks
    100 shot
    -7 plugs
    8* pulled out
controller set at 80% for .5 second
    No tuning!!!

I'm pretty pumped and we haven't even started yet! I have a new Circle D converter to install, adjustable shocks and lots of tuning to do. I think with the new converter, tuning, and the 100 shot it will run 11.40's. I think with a 175-200 10's are very doable

    53n 29f...

Everything about the truck is built for nitrous. Big ring gaps, cam spec'd specifically for nitrous, really tight converter...it's built to pick up a bunch on nitrous, not to run great on motor...if you're going to dismiss any of mine or my friends work, why not make fun of the fact that I only ran 13.40 with a 6.0...I'm not here to impress anyone, just to have fun

Personally, I was wondering why the NA time was so slow with the mods you had until you mentioned the cam specced for nitrous. I really didn't pay attention to the cam specs.

Yeah, Its about perfect to run the 13.50 index on motor if I can get better on the tree. It does pick up alot of nitrous though. I love it!

Well been a long time since I've updated.

Drove it around like that for a few weeks then decided to put it on the dyno and let Chief do his thing with the nitrous. I had a goal of 500rwhp with this motor and I was prepared to throw whatever amount of nitrous at it that it took to get that.

We made a couple quick pulls on motor in second gear with old, cold nitrous plugs on a stingy dyno(yeah I know. that's alot of excuses) and it only made 342 to the tires. Needless to say I was a little disappointed. The motor was built with nitrous in mind though, with what my cam guy called a "nitrous cam".

We had a .053 nitrous jet in my Nitrous Outlet 78mm plate and it was decided that wasn't going to get me to my goal of 500rwhp...Soooo....In typical Chief fashion, he came up with a tuneup he thought it would take to get my goal. .073 jet it was... Changed plugs, pulled some more timing, heated up the bottle, banged it through the motor and made a pull...

    575rwhp 585ft/tq...Plugs looked PERFECT(of course)so we called it good.

Never made it to the track but put it on a couple vettes and some ricers and mini vans and whatever else I pulled up beside lol

Fast forward a month, we decided we wanted to put some more nitrous to it and didn't feel comfortable doing it with the stock intake and plate on the front of it. So I bought a Vic Jr and a 4150 plate and put a fuel cell up front for the nitrous. We dyno'd the truck with the new intake on 2-25-11 and picked up a bit with the intake

Couple days later we built the bracket for the cell up front and I redid my nitrous wiring and on the way home the truck lost oil pressure

Didn't investigate to find out the exact cause but it turned out to be a spun cam bearing. I can't really point fingers, but this was fresh machine work in November, with supposed to bearings. Oh well...I ordered new stuff the next day and started the new build

Made it in GM Hightech this year too

    Built a new motor

I need to do some cleaning under the hood but living on a dirt road kind of hinders any of my motivation to get it clean lol

Anyways, machine work on the new motor was done by Jerry's Motor and Machine in El Reno, OK and my buddy Tyler(I think his name is 370 on here) through all this junk together that I had laying around

Gotta thank my buddy Tyler for putting the motor together, my buddy Bryce for helping me pull the old motor and stab the new one in and Chief for putting the nitrous tune up in it.

While it was apart, I ordered a new converter suited for my combo, ordered a roll pan, some bogarts for the rear and some bigger stickies. I've had the parts to lower it for some time, just haven't had time to make it happen. Once its lowered we'll have to redo the traction bars so that's another reason I've kind of been dragging my feet.

A pic as she sits today...
