You would have to leave the part that bolts through the wheel bearing.

Labeled "Housing" in this picture, which is just a random CV axle picture i found.

On the spacer, by transmission side, I mean the side nearest the transmission or the aft position. It would go in this order CRANK-----5.3 FLEX PLATE------SPACER -------TQ CONVERTER

I didn't remove the differential of the shafts as I will be putting 4x4 back one day or doing an AWD conversion.

Towed her to the exhaust shop today. Magnaflow true duals to black angled tips in the back. Well see Tuesday or Wednesday how she comes out! drive shaft coming in next week too. The end is near!

All I have now is an empty driveway depressing...

oh ok so i can jus remove the clamp and the rubber boot and leave the rest? would i have to take the whole assembly apart? remove the whole axle then separate or can i just remove it with everything bolted up?

i wanna hear how the exaust sounds. i finally got everything i need to drop the engine in. hopefully the flywheel issue it simple.

I would remove the axle from the truck to take them apart. Once you pull it apart it will be filled with grease you will want to clean out before you drive it anyway.
