    Leveling kit help.

I am thinking about getting a leveling kit since I dont like how low my front end sits (why did they make them like that anyway) http://www.roughcountry.com/chevy_4w...eling_kit.html I am wondering, can I just buy the keys, keys and shocks, or just the whole kit? I'm looking to go the cheapest route here so I assume the keys but I don't want to wear out the parts on my truck thats why I'm asking here.

Get the full kit for $199.

Any leveling kit will help aid in wearing out parts. It's not gonna be a week or days like some idiots infer. If a part (balljoint) usually lasts 80K miles. It may still last til 80k or be shortened by 10k miles. (just saying for ref). Do as you should, grease parts all the time, DON'T crank the heck out of the new keys, etc.....

Some might say ''Only a lift kit is the RIGHT way.... blah blah''

Yes, a actual lift will have safer angles on the CV's, but how is a 35'' tire on stock components any better?

Thanks! Will do. Now arises another problem! I just decided to put my truck in 4 wheel drive today and I noticed at no matter what speed I was going, when I turned it creaked. I've looked all around and haven't found a solution, it's not really annoying. I know it's an old truck, but it doesn't sound like its good for it either. Also, when I put it back in 2 wheel drive you feel a hard BUMP when it switches. Should I get these checked out or are they normal for that year?

4wd on dry pavement? If so then thats the prob. ONLY use it in snow and/or mud. And NEVER try to turn the wheel all the way. IF you have to struggle to turn it, then don't.

As for the thunk, its normal. I ALWAYS put the truck in neutral first. (Thats just me). Put in 2wd, wait for the lights to stop blinking, then put back in drive. The thunk is just the stress/bindage of the front and rear being locked together. Again, completely normal.

Sorry to bump, but I took my truck down to the shop the other day and just got the kit installed! Boy does it look great!

My bad! I completely forgot about you guys! Snapped these with my phone real quick. It looks 10x better and sits up like a 1/2 ton.
