97 Truck with 5.3-based 383 stroker swap - Which tranny?

I've been doing research for the past few weeks on this and I'm still a little uncertain about what path I should take with the tranny.

Truck is a '97 Suburban K1500.

The new motor is an '04 5.3 converted to a 383 stroker. Engine should make 500ish hp/tq by the time it is swapped in.

The truck will be daily driven with mild towing and mild off-road use. No track use. Also there will be no nitrous or boost.

So, I want a tranny that I can buy, rebuild with performance parts and have it be reliable. I would also need one that I can run with the '04 5.3 ECM and have as little wiring work as possible.

Which year tranny/tc should I target for? 96-98? 99-05? Can I achieve my goals with the 4l60 or do I need a 4l80?

I'd go 4l80 the 4l60 is a little on the weak side...IMO

Which year 4l80e should I target for? Can I get one from a '97 K2500? Will it work with the '04 5.3 ECM?

Does it need to be from a 4WD truck to work for me?

Also, is the transfer case different from 4l60 to 4l80?
