Removing badges?

I feel like an idiot asking this. I want to clean up the look of my 05. What's the best way to remove the badges off my Sierra? Do I just use a heat gun on them and peel them off? Do I need to use high heat or low heat? Also, if I remove the "SLE" badges from the cab, is that area flat or does it have and indention for the badge?

Fishing line or dental floss to get them off and magic erasers or eraser wheels to get the 3m tape crap off.

Word on the fishing line and 3M Eraser Wheel to get the rest of the residue off. There are no indentations around any of the emblems.

Two sets of vice grips and some fishing line. Use that to get as close to the paint surface as possible and then use the 3M eraser wheel...or if you have fingers of steel and lots of time , you can use your fingers....to get the double sided tape off. As for the emblem on the C pillar...get an edge up and peel it off. I used a pressure washer to get an edge to come up and then just peeled them off. Did leav some sticky on the paint so I used Goo-gone to get rid of that.

In my experience, it is better without because the glue stays semi firm and you can saw through it.

x2, I would not use any heat.

The couple times we did it ended up being a harder job all the way around.
