    high mile lq4 questions

so i found a 220k mile lq4 for 700$ at a local yard. what have your exp. been with high mile gen 3's? is this what you would call a good deal? same place has another lq4 with under 100k for 1g would that be a better bargain?

    plans:
change oil pump and flex plat bolt it in/re-flash pcm and go

local guy runs 10.4s @ 129 on a 100 shot on a 260k mile lq4 with 243 heads and polluter cam in an elcamino. Hes been running this setup for a few years now and plenty of bottles thru it.

+1 spend the money plenty of good high mileage motors and bad low mile motors but i would take my luck with the low mileage for sure.

its a lil steep imo. if u plan on getting it buy a new oil pump and check the cam bearings. older 6.0s are known for low oil pressure

If it made it that many miles chances are it is a good engine. I know bearings and such wear items will be worn a little more but the heads and block should be good to go. Around my parts we call those motors Seasoned.

Yep, nothing wrong with a good seasoned block.
