New guy, 84 scottsdale in memory of.

Well i figured id check in and do an introduction.

I found the forum via ls1tech and a suggestion..

I currently own a 1984 scottsdale c20. Got this truck as a hand me down after my grandmother passed recently

Anyhow, i actually learned how to drive in this truck about 20 years ago at the family farm with help from my grandfather. Its purpose was actually a farm vehicle he purchased new, however did not use much after falling victum to liver cancer and passing away in 1990. The truck lived on from then, and has more or less sat in a barn being used just to drive to and from the local grocery store since then keeping it out of the snow, and out of harm from the elements way since 1990. The only downside was a 80 year old woman driving it, which managed to drive down the garage door frame a few times, so the bed needs some work.

Anyhow, now that you know the history of the truck, haha, you clearly know that its sentimental, so ive decided that rather than to sell it for a new truck, or to nickle and dime replace all of the old hoses, lines, along with repair the existing transmission thats had some issues recently, i am going to restore this to remember both of my grandparents, as i am a hardcore car guy. The plans as of now are a simple 6.0 lq4 or 9 with a th400 (this one has a bad th350), as well as a sleu of other items. I guess you could say, i get carried away with building stuff, as it is my passion.

Ive come to the forum to learn, research, as well as contribute any information i can. I will end with a few pictures of my current cars, as well as the truck, which should reveal i really am an lsx guy. Some of my stuff may not be for everyone, as it is pretty extreme, but i build everything from the ground up, even if it means solidworks designing my own parts and having a friend cnc, wire edm, water jet, laser, ect... the parts.

    The truck!

Ive done some revisions, like the 91 front grill, duramax wheels that came with bfg tires, some polishing.

Ineed to repair the tailgate, as well as the bedsides. Then plans are powdercoating all of the stainless and chrome satin black or black wrinkle, and driving it till the day i die.

    My current daily driver.

    race car

sorry for babblin, i just never really make an introduction, and i figured id take a shot at it. Hopefully this forum lacks the trash talker nonsense lots of forums have.

Ill be busy looking for wiring conversion stuff and info!

shit, the daily driver is a gto. haha.. most people dont even recognize what it is anymore. LS2 car, and makes right around 485whp/460ftlbs off spray, and also has a wheelspeed dependent traction controlled progressive 150 hit on it also that ive not gotten into yet.

The rx7 is back halved more or less converted to fully forged torque arm solid axle with watts. Building a 427 superdeck blower motor for it and putting a gt4508r big single/th210 rossler in that, but plans fell through and ive decided to part it out and focus on the gto.. The truck should end up a tow vehicle possibly for the gto. Who knows. Its only 3270lbs now, and ive got more to take out!.
