My harness, 02 pcm and fuel pump shipped yesterday. I had a couple of surprises. Allen tells me that my 98 model O2 sensors will not work and they may need changing due to age/use. He suggest upgrading to new 02 model O2 sensors. I have always thought they were either good or bad. No in between. Can they be worn out or not read correctly. I have all 4 off the camaro so I was counting on at least 2 being good. So thats about $200 for both. Also, I just found out I need to upgrade to a truck mass air with 5 pins.
Another $150 from GM. Does all this really have to be changed? What else am I going to run into? Is GM the best source for these pieces? Any advice on these (or upcoming) surprises would be helpful. ? Thanks, Ryan

I'm sure the 5 pin maf sensor is for ease of installation. You get the air temp sensor and maf in one unit that way. The O2s get sluggish with age. Double check your connectors, too. Allen probably gave you the PN for the O2s required for his harness. They will cross reference to a V6 Camaro if I remember correctly. The O2s required have the female connector on them instead of the male connector like the V8 has. Call your local auto part store and have them cross them over and see how much their's are. I've seen the 02s on Ebay for as low as $20 each. I've heard to steer clear of Bosch sensors but I've used them without any issues.
