    cant even to begin to tell u how commin of a problem this is with the 5.3 probley repaired 50 that have the same problem easy fix i like to start fresh punch out the cam journals get it fitted for bearings find a healthy cam and run it.its a defect in the block not caused from lack of oil if it was lack of oil it would have spun and created more cam and bearing damage

    I had heard of a fit problem but never could verify it. A friend that worked at a GM dealership said they had a few engines come in with cam bearing problems, it was always the middle bearing. Now is the middle journal in the block undersized or the OD of the cam bearing to small?
    04 rcsb with a few additions.
