Thread: TC Staying Locked

    TC Staying Locked

Maybe I'm crazy but just today it seems like my TC won't unlock (in D or 3), it's a yank 2600. I just personally flushed the tranny and everything was clean (TCC screens, etc..) no real material in the bottom of the pan, and I don't have any codes popping up.

The transmission shifts normal, it doesn't have any unusual up or down shifts, no slipping, and at WOT it seems fine (A/F and Boost levels are normal) but anything below 1/2 throttle is just seems like it doggin' on me.

Also say when I'm on the freeway doing 65, I'll give the engine a little burp to speed up a bit and the TC unlocks for a second, then locks back up.

Any Idea's or is this just normal and I'm finally realizing I need to up the boost

I think it should unlock for ya pretty easy. Maybe replace the TCC solinoid. I know you can buy em seperat and splice em in, so you don't have to replace the whole harness.

Is there anyway to test it first with-out dropping the pan?

Not that I know of. Maybe someone that knows a little more will jump in here.

Well my buddy loaned me his Autotap with EFIlive, so I'm going to run some logs to figure out what is going on (my predator just doesn't give me enough real time data). Strangely enough on my way home from work last night everything seem back to normal...

It just seems like so much can go wrong with a tranny. It's hard to get solid aswers with things like that unless you have some kind of diag tools.

Need to get a scanner on it to see what is being commanded. Otherwise you are just guessing....

Well wouldn't you know it, my buddy never registered the efi live, so that's useless AND the normal autotap software doesn't let log transmission data with-out the extended license (trying t find out how to purchase that).

    sigh
