    96 RCSB 305 to LQ4 A/C options?

Ive heard several different methods on swapping the a/c over during the swap, Im just curious exactly what methods could be used (stock compressor, aftermarket, price point, advantages) Main concerns are of course affordability, but also being able to control engine idle and the electric fans I plan to use with the install, with the a/c. all ideas and input appreciated. thanks again.

How's your swap going? Just got my early lQ4 set down into my '97. Have a long way to go yet.

at the moment, shes bare, motor is on the stand next to the truck, still working on a transmission and a truetrac, kinda hoping to snag a deal on some L92's. So far its looking pretty smooth, doing my control arm bushings, alignment hardware, some cleaning and painting while ive got the motor out of it, a lil unkept after 265K. ive got a stripped wiring harness from the 6.0 im just debating on trying to finish myself or go nelson. really taking my time getting everything to my liking since I have my crew cab to drive, and this was my first truck and have no intention of ever parting with it.

Here is my 2 cents. If you want to keep the factory compressor, I recommend the bracket kit from Novak. They have the best looking... in my opinion... machine work in their brackets. This puts the compressor in the factory location and can use the original wiring. I purchased the kit w/o the compressor since my compressor was new. I didn't even have to crack the lines. www.novak-adapt.com

Go to the "More" tab under products and you will see the kit... ACG3

I live in San Antonio and had Nelson complete my wiring and tune. I am currently pulling off my fan and clutch to convert to electric fans... but I am 90+% finished. All gauges work, cruise works, 4WD works, A/C blows ice, and I can scratch 2nd gear like a 4 spd big block 67 vette.
