    Intank vs inline

    So I'm gonna be upgrading fuel pumps and injectors soon. My IDC is 120% after 4000rpm...not good. Any way my question is why do some choose an inline pump over a intank pump? I'm looking at a Bosch 044 and a set of 42lb 8.1 injectors. I'll be running professional products rails and a return style system. Just wanna hear peoples thoughts on intank v. inline, and also if there's any thing fuel system that you think I'm missing.

    Have you ever replaced the stock fuel pump?

    If not, aren't you pushing 300k on it?

    Yeah still on stock pump.. Closer to 245k than 300k. It had been acting up a while ago, but I started to prime it before starting and didn't have an issue since then. Figured it's time to replace it

    I ordered a walbro from racetronix. The guy there is pretty tight, he helped me get the right one. I still need to install it lol!

    my view on inline...is it's easier to install. I've heard they supply more fuel (assuming because you can have a larger pump, with a larger heatsink, etc).

    I BELIEVE if the intank one dies... it will starve the inline...and you're out 2 pumps. Vice versa, if the inline dies...it could block fuel from getting to motor and back up intank. I would just go with the bosch intank (what I plan on doing.) Seems simpler. Not sure there's a need for THAT much fuel.

    If there is, run 2 inlines, 2 lines, Y it right before the regulator, so if one dies...you still get fuel to motor.

    Do an in-tank Walbro and a hot wire kit from Racetronix - you'll be good to go for not much money.

    I think I'm gonna go with the bosch 044 pump and the 42lb injectors.

    I think the topic and main point of this thread kinda got missed...why do some people choose an inline pump, such as an a1000, over a single or dual or whatever intank pump? Is it just personal preference?

    Only 2 reasons I'd go with an inline, ease of access and if I put a cell in it. Oh wait, number 3, mine won't but eventually some come to a point where you can't fit enough pump in the tank.
