    LS6 going in a '99 RCSB

Ok.. finally picked up a motor for my project. It's a '04 LS6. I have the motor, acc's, PCM and harness. Ordered my oil pan, dipstick, tube windage tray and frame mounts.

Next question I have is related to DBW vs DBC. The 04 LS6 has a DBW TB. What is the best/cost effective solution here? Should I go with a DBC set up and do away with the electronics (if it can even be programmed out of the PCM) or should I get a DBW pedal and TAC? I found this one on ebay but not sure if it would work with what I have. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-Ch...#ht_571wt_1097

    Thoughts? Suggestions?

Guess I should call Nelson too... he will doing any and all wiring/programming for sure.

Throw a dbc throttle body on it, use a truck harness and pcm.

Thanks. I'll be looking for a DBC TB. I should be able to use the PCM in the V6 truck now, correct (with a tune of course)?

Yes the V6 trucks use the same PCM as the V8 trucks, just need to flash a V8 operating system onto it.

are the injector connectors the same? not a big deal if the are, but something to find out.
LS6 is a 24x reluctor, something I found out earlier when I was killing time during this fine little xmas vacation, so you're good on that.
yah, I would just do what Frenchy said and get a truck harness and flash the 0411 PCM for the LS6. Since you'll be getting an aftermarket tune, the differences between LS6 and LQ4/LM7 stuff (not sure if they use the same MAF Hz table, spark tables, VE, etc) in the tune should be taken care of. What kind of trans?

I believe the injector pigtails are different, but that's nothing.

Trans will be a 4l60E (built to handle the hp of course). Still trying to decide on the stall, 2800 or 3000 - since it will be my daily driver. Thoughts? My dad has a 3500 that went out and is under warranty. He said I could have it free after he gets it back. Trying to talk him into swapping me the 2800 he currently has in his car for the warrantied 3500. As for out back, going with 3:73 gears in the rear end.

As for the injectors, I seem to remember seeing an adapter pigtail somewhere while reading the mounts of information on these swaps, correct? Add that to my list of growing parts. lol.

Just cut the injector pigtails off the LS6 harness and put them on the truck harness.

yah dude, don't waste your money on adapter pigtails. I received a recommendation to install a 2800 rpm converter in my truck and it's a 91 with a LQ4/80E combo. 3+k with an LS6 shouldn't be too extreme, I would think.

The swap is easy, but i used my 4.8 intake on my ls6 so i didnt have a problem with injectors. Once its in just get it tuned and your good to go. But since it threw a rod i picked up an ls1 with original intake and id really like to use it. It looks so much better than the truck intake especially with aftermarket fuel rails, painted valve covers and coil relocation.
