    Differences 1500 and 2500HD

I know the man differences are always very clear larger stronger(also heavier) suspension and drive train. So is there a big difference in body or frame on these trucks or is a 1500 silverado and 2500hd essentially the same in a lot of ways who can help me out here? Easier question maybe what would it take to convert a 2500hd to a 1500? Maybe a dumb idea but just kinda curious..............

the frame is a huge difference, its nearly 2" taller than a 1500 frame thats why you can always see so much of it under the cab, the cab and beds are the same but the short short bed that comes on the 4 door 1500 is not avalible on a 2500 also there is no reg cab short bed configuration. then there is the 14 bolt, this is not the 9.5in that everyone craves its a 10.5 in the 3/4 ton and an 11.5 in the one ton. these things are big! then lile you say its got beefed up suspension and you get the 8lug spindles and such. IMO a 2500 hd is worth getting only if it comes with a duramax. its jsut to much weight to try and make go fast, they ride rougher than our 1/2 tons, they guzzle more gas, if you lower it you will have huge clearence to ground issues with the trans crossmember and rear diff. That being said i will only own a 3/4 ton from now on if i do buy another 1/2 ton it will be a race truck just like the 1/2 ton i own now is
