    Can I use my stock 4x4 with a 6.0? HELP, it's snowing!!

So I thought it would be easy to get my transfer case and front axle working so i put it off until now. Well it turns out that it's not so easy. I'm lost, the wiring diagrams for the 1993 are hard to understand and the 2004 is controlled by a module. What can I do to get this to work? Can I just run a couple switches with power to the front axle and transfer case and just turn them on when i need 4x4? My transfer case shifts manually and my engine is from a truck with pushbutton 4x4.

I will be possibly also doing this at some point with a 2004 5.3 (2WD from a van) into a 1993 K3500, so I am also interested in knowing what to do.

So your transfer case is a manual transfer case that it cam with? Or a modern Autotrac? I am not familiar with the odler ones or the swap that you have done. Some one on here might know. We need more details.

If it is a maual T-case, all you have to do is provide power to the front actuator to engage the front diff actuator. I believe just reverse the polarity to disengage.

Can you give me some more info on what truck, transfer case, ECM, that you are running, I have done a lot of homework on the 4X4 LS1 swaps

The truck is a 1993 GMC yukon gt. I have a 6.0 out of a 2004 2500hd and a new trans meant for the 2500. My stock transfer case bolted up just fine to the new trans and has been working great for months. I am not at all concerned about 4lo. I just want to be able to shift it back to 4hi and have it do its thing. My front axle has 2 connectors. One is a 2 wire, the other is a 1 wire. Alldata's wiring diagrams for the 1993 really suck, i cant tell what goes where or where powers and grounds come from since half the wires just go off the page.
