sts scavenge pump bites the dust

Anyone have a spare exapump lying around? Damn these things smoke big when the oil pump fails! bring a tow truck with you.

Not sure if Casey is using the one I sold him from my old setup. Still a good pump when I pulled it off earlier this year. Check with him

Took the pump apart and cleaned it all up. Added a little 3-n-1 oil to the top bearing and polished a suspicious looking area on the top end of the shaft. Put it all back together and it's working fine for now. I'm still going to get a new pump.

Do yourself a favor and get rid of that STS pump. It is NOT designed for oil scavenging. You will blow many more turbos if you stick with that pump. Get an ExaPump

New gold plated exapump is at the house waiting for me to install. It must be gold as pricey as they are.

FWIW, before installing an Exa-Pump, bench test the bitch. I got mine all the way installed and the damn thing didn't work when I put power to it. The bearings or gears were seized up in it. I had to pull the oil lines back off and leverage the gears a little to get it to finally break loose. 10:30 at night and having to drive it the next day is not the time to find out there is something wrong with a brand new $350 pump. I'm calling them tomorrow.
