Thread: 5.3 into a 1990 OBS with a 5 speed

  1. #11
Man hope you get your kids back soon! Don't know what I would do with out my kids.
Ok cool. I'll look into the ss flywheel. How did you find out to use the ss flywheel? Is there a difference between the ss and regular camaro flywheels?

Good thing about using the camaro flywheel is that there is a lot of aftermarket parts for it. Just wondering if I should use the stock replacement 4.8 flywheel or go with the lighter more expensive unit.
    Decisions decisions

if you got the flywheel, then go with it. i got the ss camaro flywheel cause i couldnt find a used 4.8 flywheel and couldnt order one new for it either - parts house didnt have a listing. jst got an ss flywheel cause the ss has a v8. jst worked out easier that way with the parts house worker. lol. jst another option down the road if you ever do need a new one

I'm putting together plans for a 5.3 swap, and am toying with a manual trans. Whats your part number and did it work?

    Going with a 6.0 not the 5.3
Hopefully doing the swap here in the next couple of weeks.
