The LS7 cams are a single bolt where the GenIII cams use 3 I believe...I'm sure theres more differences too

The LS7 cam would be a poor choice for a 5.3 in a truck. You would lose most of your low-end grunt. It's designed to work in a light-weight vehicle that revs high.
like a camaro with a turbo maybe.
Do you know the specs on that cam? 211/230 .591 lift. That is way too much split for a 5.3 IMO. Something a bit more close ratio would perform much better...like an EPS 222/226 or an XER 224/228 and those are not small cams at all in a 5.3.
