Hello everyone, names Brad!
Been nosing around the board for a couple weeks now gathering some knowledge for my dads old 1988 Gmc Sierra standard cab pickup. Truck holds some nostalgia since hes not around anymore so in tribute I have been looking at the slew of mods out there deciding on where to go from here... She isnt purdy right now since its been sitting for awhile, but little by little it will come together. For now engine first, paint job, and rims later.. not that the engine is ready to die or anything but at 150k I would rather put in a whole new power-plant than have to redo the heads, timing chain, and stare a minute longer at the dirty 700r4 under the chassis.. hah! Any ways loved the threads I have seen on the 5.3l, off to the junkyard I went and found a 5.3l with low mileage, computer harness, and most assecories... truth be told the 6.0 laying next to made me smile a lot widerbut
the gas gods weren't shining down on that one! So I will be reading a lot, and asking a lot of redundant questions till I can make this engine work in my OBS truck, should be a lot of fun!
