    Is there a vin# on a 6.o engine

    i bought a 6.0 and was wondering if there is a vin or a way to make sure of the year the motor is
    2006 silverado crew cab z71 6.0
    Nelson Tuned
    LT
    285/75/17 bfg mud terrain km/2
    TSP 220

    well a vin is a vehicle identification number. so a engine would not have it. there is a serial on it somewhere maybe. i tried searching for one on my donor 5.3 and figured out what it was by the domed pistons. why r u so curious about the year.

    just type in the casting number on the back of the block in like google or something and itll bring up some links on where to find it.
